Two children out of six have died in a horror crash involving a motorcycle and a car

Two children have tragically died in a horror crash between a car and a motorbike which killed six people.

The collision happened on the A61 between Wakefield and Barnsley, West Yorkshire Police confirmed.




Emergency crews attended the scene of the collision at around 3.54pm on Sunday 21 July. Two girls, who were traveling in the Ford Focus, were pronounced dead at the scene along with four adults, The Mirror reports.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Six people, including four adults and two children, have died in a collision between Wakefield and Barnsley this afternoon (21/7).

“The collision, which involved two vehicles, happened on the A61 Barnsley Road between Staincross, Barnsley and Newmillerdam, Wakefield.

“Emergency services received reports of the incident involving a Ford Focus car and a motorcycle at 3.54pm. A motorcyclist and a passenger, two women, were confirmed dead at the scene.

“An adult man and woman, as well as two children, two women, who were traveling in the car, were also pronounced dead at the scene.”
