The neighborhood’s second youth and family center has officially opened.

The Craig Park Youth and Family Hub in Edmonton is providing Enfield families with vital access to advice, support and a variety of activities after opening its doors in January.

Children, young people and many carers gathered to celebrate the grand launch this month, with Enfield Council’s cabinet member for children’s services, Abdul Abdullahi, who had the honor of unveiling the hub.

It follows the launch of a similar facility in Ponders End late last year.

The Craig Park launch event had plenty of activities for all ages, including a costume contest, face painting and more. They also had the opportunity to explore the new center and learn about the many services offered to local families with young children by Enfield Council.

The new hub marks a “significant milestone” for the local community in providing much-needed services and personalized support for children and families. This includes helping anyone from pregnancy to the age of 19 or 25 for young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

Services and activities include breastfeeding support clinics, baby health and development screenings, antenatal and postnatal maternity services, perinatal mental health support, family support sessions, welfare benefits advice, domestic violence support and more others.

Both of the borough’s family centers were set up using government funding after Enfield was named as one of 75 local authority areas to share a total of £300 million last year.

Cllr Abdullahi said: “I am delighted to have opened our second Youth and Family Center – delivering on our manifest commitment to ensuring children and young people in Enfield have a great start in life and enabling families to flourish in every stage of their life.

“Our new hub will help us provide a holistic approach to supporting families, with a range of services and trained professionals, alongside engaging and fun activities to promote health and wellbeing.”

Craig Park Youth and Family Center can be found at 2 Lawrence Road, Edmonton N18 2HN.
