Wirral man convicted of breaching gang order – Birkenhead News

A Wirral man has been jailed for breaching his restraining order.

Jack Roach, 21, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty at Liverpool County Court on Friday July 19 to breaching the gang order and was jailed for 18 weeks.

Roach was previously given a 12-week suspended sentence on 19 March 2024 for previous offences.

He subsequently breached the gang order again on 21 March 2024 by associating with a person on his non-association list, triggering the suspended sentence. He was given another six weeks for the latest offence.

Woodchurch Borough Inspector Sharon Robinson said: “Our officers are dedicated to making a positive difference in our communities and disrupting the lives of those prepared to engage in crime, which brings with it significant harm and suffering.

“We are determined to tackle serious and organized crime in the EVOLVE Wirral area and will use everything within our policing powers to make Woodchurch, Beechwood and Noctorum safer places to live and visit.

“Together with our partners we are using all the powers and legislation at our disposal to crack down on gang-related activity.

“Gang bans are part of our ongoing work to make EVOLVE Wirral areas safer places to live, work and visit.

“The bans of those given gang orders are well known to our local officers and are rigorously monitored, so if Roach breaches his bans again we can move quickly to arrest him and bring him back before the courts.

“We urge anyone with information about criminal activity to contact us, or Crimestoppers, anonymously so that together we can make a difference in the lives of those who grow up and live in EVOLVE neighborhoods.”
