West Ham have the perfect answer to seal the deal with Leeds right under their noses

West Ham have the perfect answer to seal a deal with Leeds right under their noses as talks are held for Crysencio Summerville.

West Ham are looking to sign a new left-back in this window and now attention has turned back to Leeds United.

One of the first targets the Hammers were linked with in this summer window was Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville.

It came after a West Ham move for his Leeds team-mate Wilfried Gnonto was heavily mooted in previous windows.

Graeme Bailey has claimed West Ham were impressed by the heeled Summerville after watching him up close playing for Leeds last season.

Bailey said West Ham were one of the clubs who wanted to sign Summerville this summer if Leeds failed to get promoted, as proved to be their fate in May.

Dutch Under 21 star Summerville is not alone one among the best players in the Championship, it was statistically THE The best player.

However, as soon as West Ham were linked, the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool were also said to be in the mix.

The Hammers have since turned their attention to other targets in that position, including Matias Soule, Jota Silva, Wilf Zaha and more.

But nothing was achieved. And now it looks like West Ham find themselves knocking on Leeds’ door again.

The Hammers have been linked with a new move for Summerville, who are said to be in talks with Leeds.

Fabrizio Romano and Give Me Sport have both reported that West Ham have submitted a bid to sign Summerville.

However, fans have not gotten their hopes up as the claims have been cautioned by the fact that the deal will be expensive and that no deal is imminent.

But West Ham have the perfect answer to seal a deal with Leeds right under their noses.

West Ham have the perfect answer to seal a deal with Leeds

Leeds will be under pressure to secure promotion back to the Premier League at the second time of asking next season.

So they will need to be sure they have quality players in front of the door to do just that.

The problem is that if Leeds sell Summerville to West Ham, the fee will be widely publicised, meaning every club knows how much money the Elland Road side have that would burn a hole in their pockets.

On the other hand, the Hammers need to shift some dead wood to raise funds.

Julen Lopepetegui’s desire to sign a left-back spells bad news for Maxwel Cornet.

Leeds can get Max out of the Hammers deal

The West Ham winger has had a disastrous spell at West Ham since signing from Burnley for £17.5m.

But there is a quality player there who needs to find his way back into playing regularly.

So West Ham could keep the cost of the Summerville deal down by offering Cornet as an asset in the deal.

Leeds have been linked with Cornet in the last two windows.

It may mean giving up the Championship, but Leeds are a big club and Cornet could get his career back there.

That would help grease the wheels for Summerville to join West Ham, where Lopetegui wants to start using Lucas Paqueta – while he has him – in a more central role.
