Marcus Wyllie leaves Enfield Town for Gillingham

League Two Gillingham have signed Marcus Wyllie from National League South newcomers Enfield Town for an undisclosed fee.

Wyllie won the Golden Boot, Players’ Player and Supporters’ Player of the Season last term.

The striker joined from Step 5 Risborough Rangers two years ago. In 85 outings he scored 40 goals and provided 20 assists.

His 30 league goals last season were the most in the Isthmian League Premier Pitching.

Enfield Town’s official website released a statement:

“As a club we are delighted that Marcus can fulfill his ambition to become a professional footballer.

“It’s credit to both his hard work and the coaching, support, development and man management he received at Town that helped him step up.

“We have all thoroughly enjoyed his performances and goals over the past two seasons and we have no doubt that he will be successful in the full-time ranks.”

Enfield Town began their season on 10 August away to Torquay United.
