Sheffield United could receive a cash injection in the coming weeks to help generate more revenue

Former Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge is attracting the attention of several Premier League clubs this summer. The Norwegian international is also being watched by Turkish club Fenerbahce, according to Turkish transfer expert Ekrem Konur.

Fenerbahce are very serious about signing the 26-year-old, so much so that club director Mario Branco is willing to travel to England to secure a deal for the player, according to Turkish media Dirilis Postaşi.

That will be music to United’s ears as he is said to have a significant sell-on clause written into the deal, claimed TV2 12 months ago, which saw him leave the Blades for around £15m to join of Burnley.

During his debut season for the Clarets, Berge managed two goals and two assists in 40 appearances before being relegated to the Championship, along with his former club Sheffield United.

Burnley are believed to be demanding a fee in excess of £20m for the powerful midfielder and if that is the case, the Blades will certainly be entitled to a share of the profits this summer, which could help Liam Millar’s income and/or Joe Worrall.

Burnley selling Sander Berge could help Sheffield United in the transfer market

As previously mentioned, Chris Wilder’s side have been permanently linked with FC Basel winger Liam Millar, who was loaned to Preston North End last season, where he played 35 times in the Championship for Preston and scored five goals and five assists while playing as a winger. -back.

Due to Liam Millar playing as a left-back for Preston last season, his FBref stats place him among the full-backs and full-backs in the Championship, rather than in his natural left-back position.

The Canadian international is a formidable attacking threat, ranking in the 95th percentile for expected non-penalty goals (xG) and the 99th percentile for total shots per 90 minutes. His creativity is also noteworthy, placing him in the 87th percentile for assists, 71st for key passes and 88th for shot-creating actions over the course of the campaign.

Millar’s game is characterized by his energy and pace, which is reflected in his dribbling values. He ranks in the 99th percentile for progressive carries and carries into the penalty area. His one-on-one skills are exceptional, ranking him in the 99th percentile for successful tackles.

United have used a 4-2-3-1 formation so far in pre-season, so it seems likely that this could be the main shape this coming campaign. If that’s the case, Millar is a perfect fit for that system; he can play both sides as well as a number ten just behind the striker.

Another reason why I think he fits in perfectly with United’s new formation is because of his defensive work rate. Millar played as a full-back for the Lilywhites and his defensive awareness could help Sheffield United’s full-backs in defensive situations.
