Pint of Science: Bradford pub-goers given university lectures

Jacobo Elies, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Life Sciences, said: “Pint of Science is a testament to the university’s commitment to public engagement and science communication.

“It ensures that knowledge is not just confined to academic circles, but is shared widely and enthusiastically with the community.

“So grab a drink and join the conversation, because science is for everyone and it’s happening right at your local hangout.”

BrewDog Bradford and Cafe Liza, both on Great Horton Road, are running sessions.

BrewDog assistant manager Jordan Slinn said: “Over the last few months myself, some members of staff and my manager have developed really good relationships with Bradford College and the University of Bradford.

“With that, they decided to host the event here because it’s obviously a social space and they want to create a social event around science.”

Each session costs £5, which is for two talks.
