Barbour is to open a heritage concept store in Victoria Leeds

Barbour is set to unveil its first standalone store in Leeds this autumn, taking up residence in the Victoria Mall Leeds to showcase the premium outdoor brand’s new heritage design concept.

The two-storey 2,679 sq ft store on King Edward Street in the Victoria Quarter will become the first such concept outside of London, showcasing the traditional menswear and womenswear collections.

The store’s design will also complement and enhance the character and heritage of the Grade II-listed establishment, we’re told, featuring an “industrial yet refined space that speaks to the craftsmanship of the brand”.

It will join the destination’s premium group of British brands including Vivienne Westwood, Mulberry, Boodles and Penhaligons, “strengthening Victoria Leeds’ position as a leading UK retail destination and demonstrating its ability to attract the best brand debuts” .

Rachel Bradburn, Leasing Director at the venue, commented: “Victoria Leeds has always been a home for top British and independent brands, but since Redical’s new ownership, we have seen a significant change.

“Our impressive performance so far this year, along with the arrival of prestigious brands such as Barbour… exemplifies this momentum. This latest signing is yet another example of (a) being the destination of choice for high caliber brands looking for a premium location with a proven loyal customer base.”

Contemporary semi-fine jewelery brand Missoma will also open this summer, with its second permanent UK flagship in the centre. The 2,250 square meter Victoria Quarter boutique becomes its regional flagship outside of London, stocking the brand’s collections, mostly in gold and silver, while others are handcrafted with conflict-free diamonds, emeralds, baroque pearls and blue sapphires.
