Hull City are set to sign Cody Drameh following his exit from Leeds United

Hull City are set to sign defender Cody Drameh following his departure from Leeds United, according to reporter Barry Cooper.

Hull City are looking for more new signings as they look to improve on last year’s 7th place finish.

The Tigers failed to reach the play-offs under Liam Rosenior and the decision was made to part ways with the popular boss. Tim Walter is now at the helm and this summer window is his chance to make his mark on the team.

The start of the new campaign is fast approaching and after a number of departures, more players are set to follow Ryan Giles to Humberside. Now, it looks like a new addition is about to enter the doors of MKM Stadium.

Writing at X, Hull Live reporter Barry Cooper says right-back Cody Drameh is set to sign for Hull City following his departure from Leeds United. The signing is expected to be confirmed as Walter adds another new face to his ranks.

Drameh has enjoyed a string of successful loan spells away from Elland Road with Cardiff City, Luton Town and Birmingham City. However, with a breakthrough in Yorkshire eluding him, he is moving on this summer.

Who is this?

THE QUIZ STARTS!

A deserved championship stay

Drameh has shown that he is more than capable at the championship level in recent seasons.

After announcing himself with an impressive breakthrough while on loan at Cardiff City, the 22-year-old will play a major role in Luton Town’s promotion to the Premier League.

His runs up and down the right made him a threat in attack and an asset at the back as well. He was Rob Edwards’ first choice right-back as they tasted play-off glory in 2023.

A spell with Birmingham City last season could have been a bit more challenging. The Blues suffered a shock relegation as Drameh and Ethan Laird competed for a starting spot, but he still displayed despite being a huge asset at this level.

After his departure from Leeds United, many would have expected him to stay at this level. He seems to have won that with Hull City, who are another mobile and ambitious side.

Crunch time

Hull City are at a vital time. As touched upon earlier, only side Giles signed after a string of exits and manager Walter needs to be backed up with notable reinforcements.

His squad looks short in key areas, so business needs to be brisk in the coming weeks.

Drameh’s arrival will add some depth to the right side. He will likely compete with Lewie Coyle for the right-back spot, although he has also operated on the left when required.

It is hoped his signing is the first of several to come ahead of their season opener against Bristol City.
