Marshall launches new label at Ealing Blues Festival – EALING.NEWS – The Voice of Ealing 7 towns

The Marshall Group, home to the famous Marshall amplifiers which was founded in Hanwell, is launching its new label at this weekend’s Ealing Blues Festival (27 July 2024 – 28 July 2024) taking place in Walpole Park.

His first release, Living The Blues by Terry Marshall and Friends features some of the UK’s finest blues musicians and performers, including Festival founder Robert Hokum, along with other talented artists High Budden, Robin Bibi, Zoe Schwartz, Geoff Garbow and Emma Wilson.

Terry Marshall, son of late Marshall founder Jim Marshall, said: “Every Living The Blues musician I’ve played on stage with, so it was like meeting friends. We’d ask the singers what songs they’d like to play on the day and we’d make an arrangement on the spot and then we’d give them an idea.”

Mr Marshall added: “I recorded all those tracks in four days – I didn’t want any rehearsals. I wanted the singer to feel relaxed, and because all the people we had there were musicians, I knew it would work.”

Robert Hokum said: “It’s only fitting that Marshall launch their latest venture close to where it all began for them, at the Ealing Blues Club in 1963. It was there that the Marshall JTM45 classic guitar amplifier was first heard in public , “loud””.
