The most expensive and cheapest streets in Watford have been revealed

There is a gap of more than £1million in house prices between the most expensive and cheapest streets in Watford, according to new research.

The 10 most expensive streets have all sold for an average of more than £1 million over the past five years, according to analysis of land register figures by auctioneers Property Solvers.

Hempstead Road came top in the town as three properties sold for an average of £1,255,833 in 2019, with Stratford Road coming in second at £1,189,166 and Rounton Close third at £1,148. 750 pounds.

Property Solvers co-founder Ruban Selvanayagam noted that a house in Parkside Drive cost £1,851,000 in December 2023, although the street did not make the top 10 overall.

At the other end of the scale, the cheapest way to buy a property was Lower High Street, where six houses sold for around £114,250.

St Johns Road and Sheepcot Lane also represented some of the best value for money, with average property prices reaching £137,587 and £164,941.

It comes after data from the Land Registry showed that property prices in Watford rebounded by 2.3% in May, taking the average value in the town to £387,277.

However, the increase did not reverse the long-term trend, which saw property prices in the area suffer an annual decline of 3.2%.
