Woman Shares Money Rule She Follows for ‘Big Buys’

A radio host shared a money rule he always follows when it comes to splurging on big purchases. Absolute Radio and Hits Radio presenter Jennie Longdon asked why Millennials can’t make “big purchases” on their phones.

In a TikTok video uploaded to her page last month, Jennie expressed her discomfort with making purchases such as plane tickets through her phone. She admitted that buying items like clothes and takeout was fine, but things like plane tickets required a laptop.

Jennie said: “Millennials, why can’t we make big purchases from our phones? Packed meals, clothes, shoes within reason, yes, but a plane ticket? On your phone – it’s laptop work.

“A holiday, you can’t book a holiday on the phone. This is a laptop thing. Big purchases, we have to get the laptop out. Why do we like it, I don’t know? But we can’t, we can’t make a large or significant purchase on the phone, no! You can’t navigate properly.”

Jennie’s video seemed to ring home for a number of people. Her TikTok has been viewed over 838,500 times, garnering 52,700 likes and 2,258 comments.

Imogen agreed: “Big purchase needs big internet”, while Ryanmalarkey2 said: “”Let’s get the laptop out tonight and look at holidays”.

Gav commented: “And I took a screenshot as if they wouldn’t email me a receipt afterwards.”

Tracy Widdows wrote: “I will literally look at the info on my phone then go get my laptop to go to the same site to book it hahahahahahahahahahaha.”
