Which councilor has what job on Kirklees Council as new Cabinet revealed

All the appointees to Kirklees Council’s new Cabinet and their portfolios have been revealed.

An eventful packed meeting earlier this month saw former Council leader Cllr Cathy Scott (Kirklees Community Alliance, Dewsbury East) removed by a vote of no confidence and Cllr Carole Pattison (Labour, Greenhead) was chosen as successor.

A former Labor group leader, Cllr Scott announced his departure from the party at the council’s annual meeting in May and said he would continue as an independent council leader.

However, this was short-lived as the Labor group tabled a vote of no confidence. It claimed Cllr Scott and her newly formed cabinet of independent members had “no legitimate mandate” to lead the council – a claim Cllr Scott disputed.
