South West Water says supplies are returning to normal after a burst water main earlier left many homes in Cornwall without water.

The company apologized for the problem, which affected homes in postcode areas TR1 to TR16.

It said: “Our emergency team were on site working hard to isolate the broken water main and restore supply to customers.

“Some customers may continue to experience supply fluctuations while water pressure returns and builds up in the network.”

Earlier I spoke to Jack – who is currently staying at a campsite near Truro.

He told us no running water means they don’t have access to showers or toilets:

“It makes us feel a bit dirty and unclean because we’re not able to fix ourselves and we end up looking at other options for emergency solutions – can we find a public toilet somewhere? It’s not ideal at all.”

Threemilestone School was also closed for the day due to a lack of water.
