Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Club win Leeds Children’s Award

Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Leeds Rhinos were recently named winners of the ‘Overall Contribution to Making Leeds a Child Friendly City’ category.

Leeds Rhinos Foundation CEO Bob Bowman attended to collect the award, which recognized their generosity in providing hundreds of free tickets to children from a wide range of backgrounds and their community work to get children involved in sport.

The awards are back for their ninth year to showcase the talent, achievements and energy of the city’s children and young people, and to celebrate the people, places and organizations that help make Leeds a child-friendly city.

The night of celebration saw a stellar line-up of children’s champions step into the spotlight for a night to remember at the 2024 Leeds Children’s Awards.

The award recognized the hard work of Leeds Rhinos Foundation staff across schools and clubs who help deliver the city’s vision to be the best city for children and young people to grow up, thrive from early years to adulthood .

The club, and in particular the Customer Experience team, were also praised for their donation of tickets to ensure more young people can attend Rhinos games. In recent seasons the club has provided a ticket allocation to Leeds City Council’s Child Friendly Leeds Department for matches throughout the season. These are distributed to children and families who might not otherwise be able to attend Rhinos matches. This is managed by Customer Experience Lead Kevin Brock who always ensures they are allocated and released on time and maintains regular contact with participating groups to ensure they have everything they need.
