Stunning maiden century from all-rounder Ilan Selby

Belmont and Edgware CC had a historic weekend, the two elevens saw some great performances including a maiden century and a five-wicket debut.

The first eleven played second placed Guttal CC at Wembley, batting first in their league match. The innings was held together thanks to a stunning maiden century from Ilan Selby.

The Scot hit 105 from just 98, reaching three figures with a towering six off a no-ball.

Ending on 227/8, the total was not enough, with the opposition coming out strongly against the opening bowlers.

Guttall reached the total in 29 overs, seven wickets down after Elisha Lev and David Kaplan took three wickets each.

Meanwhile at stunning Knebworth, the second eleven played first against Yarl CC. Alfie Davis and Benjy Landau made their debuts, in a camp littered with young and exciting talent.

Josh Lebrett struck first and vice-captain Jonny Schogger broke a crucial partnership in the middle.

Captain Jack Mendel then turned to 15-year-old Alfie Davis, a left-arm seam bowler, who took an astonishing six wickets for just 18 runs, including a hat-trick to end the innings.

Yarl were dismissed for 135, with Josh Lebrett anchoring the chase, hitting 41. He was ably assisted by Joel Azulay with 27, before Matt Gittleson played a sensitive and responsible knock of 26 not out, alongside Zachy Sager on 16 not out -out, to get the win.
