Caravans pull up on a park in Coventry

The caravans set up in a park in Coventry. The camp was spotted at Cashs Park in Foleshill earlier today (Tuesday, July 23).

Around five caravans can be seen on the land on Kingfield Road. The group is believed to have arrived yesterday evening (Monday, July 22).




Coventry City Council said they were “aware” of the camp on Kingfield Road. Officers attended the site earlier today (July 23) to carry out assessments and will serve legal notices to recover the land.

A Coventry City Council spokesman said: “We are aware of this camp. Officers attended the site earlier today (July 23) to carry out the necessary assessments and are currently working with the relevant authorities to resolve the situation and provide legal notices to reclaim our land.”

Figures obtained by CoventryLive showed that a total of £223,000 was spent on cleaning up camps in Coventry over the past five years. Councilor Peter Male previously described illegal encampments in the city as an “ongoing problem”.
