Fatawu Issahaku: Ghanaian player models in New Jersey away from Leicester City

Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has been selected to model the new Leicester City away shirt ahead of the 2024/25 English Premier League season.

The 20-year-old was confirmed as a permanent Leicester City player last week after penning a five-year deal to join the Foxes following a successful loan spell.

Issahaku immediately joined his teammates in Evian, France as training continued under new coach Steve Cooper.

In a photo shared on social media, the former Ghana U20 star was seen wearing the new away shirt as Leicester unveiled it to their fans.

The shirt, which is predominantly black with a touch of pink, will be worn in away matches. Leicester will however keep their blue shirt for their home games next season.

The 2016 Premier League champions secured a swift return to the top flight after winning the English Championship last season.

Ghana’s talismanic winger Isshaku, who was on loan at the club last season, played a big part in their promotion.

Issahaku impressive loan spell

The Black Stars striker made a huge impact during his loan spell, starring in Leicester’s rapid return to the English Premier League.

Issahaku’s hat-trick against Southampton at the end of the campaign ensured the Foxes’ promotion was confirmed before they won the league.

According to Transfermarkt, Issahaku scored six goals and provided 13 assists in the English Championship. He also scored a goal in the FA Cup against AFC Bournemouth. In total, he contributed 20 goals in his first season in England.

Issahaku dances with the Leicester move

Before, Yen.com.gh reported that Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has agreed a permanent deal to join repatriated English Premier League side Leicester City.

Issahaku helped the Foxes quickly return to the Premier League after playing for the club while on loan from Sporting Lisbon.

The 20-year-old striker contributed 20 goals last season and was named Leicester’s Young Player of the Year.
