Man injured in street attack in Cornwall

A man was assaulted on a street in Cornwall last night (Monday 13 May). At around 10.50pm last night, police were alerted to reports of an attack near Newquay Zoo.

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police were called to the scene in Trenance Road, Newquay, where a man was found with leg, hand and head injuries following an attack. The victim was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.




While the extent of his injuries are not known at this time, they are not believed to be life-changing or threatening. Police have cordoned off the area and officers are continuing their investigation.

An eyewitness said there police cordoned off an area outside Newquay Zoo. They said: “The incident which took place on Newquay Zoo Road has closed that area. Police are recording in several places. I couldn’t get close to where the police box was.”
