A motorcyclist’s confrontation with an angry motorist on a narrow Cornish road has sparked outrage online after the video resurfaced on Facebook. The motorcyclist, who was with his daughter, dismounted to discuss the standoff, as captured in the viral YouTube clip.

The footage, originally from 2022, shows the tense moment as the motorcyclist tries to reason with the driver, saying: “I can only go forward, I’ve got no reverse, I can’t go back”, hoping she’ll concede. and reverses her car.

However, the driver disputes his claim, retorting: “Then you shouldn’t be in a place like Cornwall. If you didn’t go the other way around this time of year.”

The biker persists, informing her that only two types of motorcycles come in reverse, but she dismisses his explanation as “It’s a load of rubbish”.

Eventually, the motorcyclist returns to his motorcycle and the woman is seen reversing the vehicle, Cornwall Live reports. Originally shared on YouTube, the biker captioned the encounter: “Bumping around Cornwall with daughter in tow and find a lovely lady informing me of my mistakes. I shouldn’t be driving if I only have two wheels.

“I shouldn’t bring a bike into Cornwall if it doesn’t have reverse gear (at this time of year). The idea that there are currently only a few (mainstream) bikes with reverse gear is silly, it seems. I feel much more informed now.

“If everyone had a K1600 or a Goldwing, or a Guzzi for that matter. No, that’s a crazy idea, no one would buy a Guzzi, surely?”

Following the clash, dozens of spectators took to the comments section to air their views. With one tickled commenter sharing: “He has to go back about 10 feet. It shouldn’t be in Cornwall.”

An agreement was heard from another who said: “If they can’t reverse a car, they shouldn’t be driving, especially here.”

Another said: “Whoever finds it easier should back off. If it had been an articulated truck, I would imagine you would have turned around.”
