BBC Bargain Hunt player ‘injured’ as fans ask ‘what happens now?’

Some Bargain Hunt fans witnessed a show first during the last episode.

For the red team, company executives David and James team up to hunt down a series of bargains at an antiques warehouse. Father and son were mentored by expert Danny Sebastian, but had seconds to spare when deciding on their final purchase.

After claiming a vintage wooden crate and bottle set, as well as a pocket barometer, they were torn between a plate and a chandelier. Danny said anything Danish was “on fire” and “hot” at the auction.

In the end, the men went with the tiny brown bowl after they thought its brand name would bring more under the hammer compared to the more modern candle holder. Apparently put back on the shelf, the object made a surprise reappearance later in the show when Danny opted to spend £9 of David and James’ leftover cash on the Danish wood and metal object.

With a modest profit of £20 in the bank, the men gambled on the chandeliers. It proved to be their downfall as the auction room fell silent at the sight of the item.

Father-of-four James had his head in his hands when auctioneer Mary Chilcott’s starting price of £10 plummeted. She even joked that she was going to “buy some candles to put in them”, but there was no interest and they went unsold, which David said “absolutely hurt”.
