Hotel Chocolat is planning to open a store in Bradford – and it wants to sell alcohol too

A luxury chocolate brand has applied for a license to sell alcohol as it plans to open a store in Bradford.

Hotel Chocolat has applied for the license for its new store, which it plans to open in Ilkley. This store would open at 4 Brook Street, which is currently an empty property in Ilkley town center and can be found next to Café Nero.

The company also confirmed to the Local Democracy Reporting Service that more details about the new store are to be announced in the coming weeks. According to the license bid, which was submitted to Bradford Council, the license would be for the “Sale of alcohol for on and off premises consumption Monday to Sunday between the hours of 7am and 10pm”.

Any residents have until August 21 to comment on the application.

As well as selling chocolate itself, Hotel Chocolat also sells a number of chocolate-themed spirits and liqueurs. The company opened its first store in London in 2004 and now has over 120 branches.

It has several stores in Leeds but this would be the first in Bradford.
