It’s game on for the interior design business as it launches a specialist sports operation

Leeds-based commercial interior design company Design Tonic is expanding by creating a new arm dedicated to catering for sports-related projects.

The firm, which was founded in 2019, launched DT Sports after a series of projects and commissions from the sports sector that saw it works with Leeds United Football Club, Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Manchester United.

DT Sports should mean company can further expand into sports and hospitality while retaining custom teams for residential, office and entertainment spaces.

Amanda Cooke, founder of Design Tonic, said: “We are so excited to announce the expansion of the Design Tonic business with the launch of DT Sports. We have a massive passion for the sport across the team, so it was a dream come true to launch this specialist arm.

“We already have future DT Sports projects in the works, with exciting LUFC developments close to launch.

“It’s great for our team to be able to create these specialist spaces that cater to players, backroom staff, media and spectators.”

The DT Sports arm of the business consists of a team working with major stadiums across the UK.

They can work with all areas of the sport, from training and back-of-house spaces such as changing facilities to customer-centric front-of-house hospitality spaces such as bars, stands and boxes.

The company’s previous projects have redesigned and renovated well-known sports venues in the north.

For Leeds United Football Club, the business carried out a the large-scale redesign and refurbishment of the entire South Stand, boxes and bars, as well as collaboration with Heineken on the Heineken Lounge.

It also created new media suites at Elland Road and Thorpe Arch, as well as new training facilities such as a gym, reception and first team changing rooms at Thorpe Arch.

For Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Design Tonic undertook a complete redesign and refurbishment of the Hawke Suite and Long Rooms, First Team Dressing Room, Parents and Friends Lounge and a new terrace at Edgbaston.

Meanwhile, for Manchester United, the company redesigned boxes for Adidas, Team Viewer, Doo Group and Estée Lauder.
