Coventry City have sent a clear transfer message as summer plans are put in place

Mark Robins has been given a clear message as he plans his summer transfer strategy at Coventry City.

The Sky Blues have had another thrilling campaign under Robins, taking mighty Manchester United to the limit in an epic FA Cup semi-final at Wembley – and some might argue they were only denied by the vagaries of VAR to reach the the final.

But they fell short in their bid to reach the Championship play-offs to emulate their efforts in 2022/23, and that will be the focus of the Robins’ machinations over the coming weeks and months.

Following that penalty shootout defeat at Wembley and Coventry on the final day upset by QPR, we polled Sky Blues fans on a wide range of issues from the season just past – and the summer ahead.

The majority of the 1,500 respondents were satisfied with the 2023/24 campaign, with 68% of respondents rating the season either a seven or an eight.

The hapless Tatsuhiro Sakamoto was rated the best of the summer signings with 31 per cent of the votes cast – and could have done even better had he not been injured at the end of his season – with Milan van Ewijk close behind on 28 percent. Ellis Simms came in third (21 percent).
