Family tribute to ‘beautiful’ Coventry mum killed by dog ​​’while having seizures’

A Coventry mum who was allegedly bludgeoned to death while suffering a seizure has been remembered for having a “heart of gold”. Mum Kelly Reilly was found seriously injured in the horrific attack in Wood End.

Kelly was attacked by her pet dog at an address on Wexford Road at around 12.15pm on Monday (July 22). Tragically, nothing could be done to save her and she died a short time later, West Midlands Police said.

Aunt Serena Parnell said Kelly suffered a seizure which caused her dog to become “frightened”. Her loved ones remembered the 33-year-old as a “beautiful lady with a lot of heart”.

In a tribute released today (July 24), her family said: ‘Kelly was the most beautiful and kindest young lady anyone could ever meet. She will be truly missed by everyone she knew, from family to friends.

“She was the most amazing mother, daughter, sister, aunt, fiancee, niece, cousin and friend to so many, the family is so devastated and struggling to come to terms that they will never see her beautiful face again. Kelly would light up any room she entered. She had the biggest heart and cared for everyone around her.

“Her passing has hit her family, friends and the wider community very hard. Kelly was a very family oriented young lady and would do anything for anyone. He had a heart of gold. She will remain forever in our hearts and will continue to live on throughout our lives.”

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “Our thoughts are with Kelly’s family and friends at this devastating time. We know how her tragic death has affected so many in the community.”
