Two charged after more than $4,000 worth of goods were stolen from Bradford store

Police say Scarborough residents have stolen printer cartridges, electric dog beepers, headlights and more

Two Scarborough residents were charged Thursday after allegedly stealing from a Bradford business.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., South Simcoe police were called to a theft in progress at a retail store. Police were told two people entered the store, selected merchandise and left without paying. The suspects were arrested after they tried to leave.

Police recovered stolen goods including printer cartridges, electric dog collars, pharmaceuticals, headlamps and water filters. The total value of the stolen goods was over $4,000.

A 31-year-old woman was charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000. A 31-year-old man was charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
