A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in Woolwich

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in Woolwich.

The incident happened on Powis Street just before 6.40pm today (July 26).

Officers and crews from the London Ambulance Service attended and found a man injured.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, where his condition was assessed as life-threatening.

No arrests have been made as police inquiries continue.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Police were called to Powis Street, SE18, at 6.37pm on Friday July 26 following reports of a stabbing.

“Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS).

“A 20-year-old man was found with stab wounds.

“He was taken to hospital, his condition was assessed as non-threatening.

“There were no arrests. Investigations are ongoing.”
