Celine Dion absolutely stunned viewers around the world on Friday night when she closed the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics with a powerful performance.

The Canadian star, 56, made an incredible public comeback with his first live performance since announcing his diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome in 2022.

As the ambitious opening ceremony neared its final minutes after the Olympic cauldron was lit, signaling the official start of the Games, Dion took to a special stage beneath the iconic Eiffel Tower.

In a shimmering silver gown with beading and delivering a flawless voice, the top Canadian singer delivered a captivating performance that immediately drew admiration.

The star performed a captivating rendition of L’Hymne à l’amour by French singer Édith Piaf.

As she reached the climax of the song, Dion seemed to become emotional.

Among those who shared their admiration was Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

“A proud Quebecois is on stage at the Opening Ceremony!” he tweeted from his official X account, adding: “@celinedion is a Canadian icon, an incredible talent and overcame a lot to be there tonight .

Others were quick to praise Dion on social media after an opening ceremony that left some viewers cold with its decision to span over the River Seine and various Parisian landmarks.

“The performance of a lifetime from a lady who unfortunately suffers everywhere. This is your legacy’, commented Paul Bavister.
