Cheltenham Town v Bristol City RECOVERY: Comfortable win for Championship side after early double

Cheltenham Town were beaten 3-0 at home by a strong Bristol City side in their penultimate pre-season friendly of the summer at Whaddon Road on Friday night.

Liam Manning’s side opened the scoring after just 36 seconds, Sinclair Armstrong finishing past Owen Evans from Nahki Wells’ pass.




It was 2-0 in the fourth minute when Wells converted from the penalty spot after being brought down in the box by Owen Evans.

Mark Sykes rounded off the scoring in the 84th minute at the end of a clever move.

Cheltenham sent on new signings Ryan Bowman and Levi Laing at the start of the second half, along with a back three.

Wolves defender Kam Kandola played the first 45 minutes, making his second friendly appearance.

The Robins’ final friendly is at home to League One side Northampton Town on Saturday (3pm).
