Appeal: Fatal road traffic collision, Leeds

Police have released details of a man who died when a car collided with a bicycle in Leeds.

Graham Johnson, who was 47 and from Leeds, suffered serious injuries after the bike he was riding collided with a white Vauxhall Insignia on Easterly Road at around 2.35pm yesterday (Thursday).

He was taken to hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead a short time later.

Graham’s family thanked the public and emergency services for their assistance at the scene of the collision. They also asked that their privacy be respected at this very difficult time.

Following investigations carried out at the scene, a 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He was later released on bail pending inquiries into the collision.

Anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage that can help is also asked to contact the team.
