Anthony Gordon signs £50m deal and Bayern Munich deal – Liverpool’s dream 25-man squad

Liverpool still have plenty of cap space to work with to build their dream squad for next season in the Premier League. The Reds are yet to complete any new signings but continue to be linked with possible additions to the squad.

Premier League clubs can name a 25-man squad for next season, which is usually confirmed after the transfer window closes. Last year Liverpool confirmed their list in September and that is likely to happen again this time around.

This summer has already seen a number of departures from the Liverpool squad that were named last year. Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip, Adrian and Paul Glatzel have left the club and will leave four places in a squad that included just 22 last season.

Liverpool can only name 17 non-homegrown players in their squad. The Reds are also not required to name players in the squad who are under the age of 21, which is considered a player born after 1 January 2003.

Because of this, the likes of Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah, Harvey Elliott and Stefan Bajcetic don’t need to be included in the squad this season. There is also room for Liverpool to make additional non-homegrown signings if required.

Gleison Bremer and Joshua Kimmich are two players who have been linked with Liverpool in recent weeks. Both players could be added to the Reds’ squad for the upcoming campaign and could provide welcome depth to Arne Slot in his first season as head coach.

Reports in recent days claim that Bremer is valued at £50m by Juventus. For Kimmich, it remains to be seen whether Bayern Munich would be open to selling the midfielder given his importance to their squad.

Another player who will be linked with Liverpool is Anthony Gordon. The Newcastle United star has been credited as a target for the Reds all summer and if he were to sign, he would also become a homegrown player for Liverpool next season.
