Leicester City fell to their first defeat of pre-season as Serie B side Palermo fell to the Foxes at Chesterfield.

New faces Mads Hermansen, Victor Kristiansen and Bobby De Cordova-Reid were all in the squad for the first time for the Foxes, although only Hermansen got a start between the posts.

Steve Cooper’s side had the better of the first half with Stephy Mavididi having an effort cleared off the line and Harry Winks firing over.

But they fought back after the break and fell behind on the hour mark, Federico Di Francesco pouncing on an error to give the Serie B side the lead.

The Foxes were given a late reprieve when Roberto Insigne hit the bar, but despite the introduction of De Cordova-Reid, they were unable to find a way past Palermo.
