Coventry is bracing for a ‘mini heatwave’ next week – the exact date the city will hit 29C

It’s going to be a hot week in Coventry as the sun continues to shine in the city. A ‘mini heatwave’ to hit Britain won’t leave the city out, with temperatures solidly in the 20s throughout next week.

Although there will be a few showers in the early afternoon on Saturday, the rest of the week will be warm, dry and sunny – perfect weather for the second week of the school holidays. Saturday will be around 20 degrees Celsius, but it will be Sunday when temperatures reach a high of 25 degrees Celsius.




Later in the week, the heat will peak on Tuesday, with 29 degrees Celsius forecast for the area. And while the predicted temperatures will be a blessing for those heading to the area’s parks, lakes and country roads, the NHS has advice on how to cope as it warms up across the country.

They advise staying in the shade, especially between 11am and 3pm, and always wear sunscreen. Other tips include wearing a hat and light clothing and avoiding exercise or activities that make you hotter.

It is also essential to have plenty of food and water. The NHS also recommends keeping your living space cool by closing windows during the day and opening them at night when the temperature outside has dropped. T

They also say that electric fans can help if the temperature is below 35 degrees.
