Fabio Carvalho shares the latest on Liverpool’s future after admitting the transfer and talks with Arne Slot

Fabio Carvalho has revealed he has held discussions about his Liverpool future with Arne Slot and refused to rule out a move away in this transfer window. The versatile forward spent last season on loan with RB Leipzig and Hull City and returns to Anfield after last starting a competitive game for the Reds in January 2023 in an FA Cup win at Wolves.

Carvalho has returned to his parent club with new head coach Slot keen to get a good look at his new set of players before making any major recruitment decisions and the former Fulham youngster says pre-season. will have a say in his next career move.

“We had a few conversations that I’m not going to go into detail about, but he wants me to put my head down and work hard and see where it goes,” Carvalho revealed after Friday’s 1-0 win against Real Betis in Pittsburgh.

“(The spell with Hull) was crucial, I needed game time and I was happy when I was playing. Every footballer wants to play week in week out and I feel I got the best out of myself when I was out there playing.

“I feel (Slot’s style) will suit everyone, to be fair. I feel he plays positive football, he likes to create chances and that’s what I did. I think I play better as a number 10.”

Carvalho started the 1-0 behind closed doors defeat to Preston North End at No 9 earlier this month at the AXA Training Center and started Pittsburgh’s win on the left of attack, but it is as a creative midfielder where the Under-21 international of Portugal is seen in the long term.

Carvalho added: “So we talked about it and (Slot) told me to try to settle on the wing, but obviously I know where I play best and I feel like it’s at 10. I’m just going to do what he wants he. to do and work as much as I can for him. He gives me good instructions and motivates me a lot in training and gives me this confidence.
