Sheffield-Calahaln: New firefighters welcome

Sheffield-Calahaln VFD Chief Matthew Mills welcomes anyone interested in becoming a firefighter to come to the department or call 336-492-5791.

Hotdog Saturday at New Union is Saturday, May 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

New Union welcomes everyone to Sunday School at 9am and Worship Service at 10am each week. Kids Power Hour takes place every Wednesday from 18:30-19:30

Ijames Baptist Church worship service is held every week at 10:30am. Ijames TeamKid for ages 3 to 5th grade, and the Youth Group, ages 6-12 will meet every Sunday from 5-6 pm. Everyone is invited. The Ijames Baptist Children’s Choir for ages 2-12 will meet on Sundays from 4:30-5 p.m.

Worship service at Community Covenant Church is every Sunday at 10:45 am, and children’s class for children is at 10:45 am, evangelistic service on Sundays at 6:00 pm and prayer meeting and Bible study on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm . The church is at 1446 Sheffield Road.

A time of prayer is held at Liberty Wesleyan Church every Sunday at 9:30 am, followed by Sunday school at 10 and worship at 11. Choir practice is every Wednesday at 7:00 pm. A luncheon will follow on Sunday, March 10.

The Center Methodist Church organizes a Bible study every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m The Book of Philippians Bible Study will be led by Pastor Jesse Teal. The church is at 1857 US 64 W. Everyone is invited. For questions, email Pastor Teal at [email protected].

Jam sessions are held every week on Mondays at Eddie’s Place in Cool Springs from 6-9:30. Admission to Farmington is $3, but musicians get in for free.

Local musicians are featured every Friday from 6-8pm at MawMaw’s Restaurant on US 601 S., Mocksville. Gaining Ground held last Friday and it was dedicated to mothers. On Friday night, Darrell Connor and the Country Legends will play a mix of country, gospel, beach, rock ‘n roll and bluegrass.
