‘All hooves accounted for’ after horse trailer overturns: OPP

A 21-year-old horse named Donte escaped serious injury after the trailer he was riding in overturned in an accident in New Tecumseth earlier today.

The two-vehicle collision occurred at 7th Line and 15th Side Road, causing the horse trailer to overturn, according to Nottawasaga OPP.

With the assistance of New Tecumseth Fire, Simcoe County Paramedics, Two Tack Emergency Medical Services and a local veterinarian, Donte was safely removed from the trailer with minor injuries, according to police.

The drivers of the vehicles, who remained at the scene, suffered minor injuries.

No charges have been filed at this time and the road has been reopened.
