Ipswich and Aston Villa striker Iheanacho has agreed a move to Sevilla after leaving Leicester

Iheanacho, linked with Ipswich and Aston Villa, agrees to move to Sevilla after leaving Leicester

According to German transfer market expert Florian Plettenberg, Kelechi Iheanacho is on the verge of joining Sevilla.

The Spanish La Liga side signed Chidera Ejuke on a free transfer at the start of the summer and are on the verge of signing another Nigeria international striker as they continue to improve their squad ahead of the new season.

Iheanacho has reached a verbal agreement with Sevilla and a medical has been scheduled for Tuesday/Wednesday ahead of his possible unveiling.

Sevilla will be without the services of Youssef En-Nesyri next term as the Moroccan forward left the club for Fenerbahçe, leaving a void in García Pimienta’s squad.

It appears that the hole left by En-Nesyri will now be filled by Iheanacho, who is currently a free agent following the non-renewal of his contract with Leicester City which expired last month.

The 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup Ballon d’Or winner has been linked with a number of clubs, including Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town as well as Aston Villa, but has decided to embark on a new adventure by moving In Spain.

Iheanacho spent his entire career in England after starting out at Manchester City before moving to Leicester City in 2017 and spending seven years with the club.

If the deal goes as expected, Iheanacho will join Ejuke, Arsenal loanee Albert Sambi Lokonga, Peque Fernández and Saúl Ñíguez as new Sevilla players.
