Nottingham Forest are keen to secure Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale on loan this summer.

According to The Sun, Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo is aiming to bring the England international to the City Ground as first-choice goalkeeper. However, the club face a significant hurdle in Arsenal’s £50m asking price for the 26-year-old.

Instead of a permanent move, Nottingham Forest are prepared to wait until the end of the transfer window in the hope that Arsenal will consider a loan move for Ramsdale. The club are willing to cover Ramsdale’s wages and offer a substantial bonus, banking on this strategy to secure his services.

Despite the fact that there are no suitable offers for Ramsdale so far, numerous Premier League clubs are monitoring his situation. Nottingham Forest’s approach is high-risk, especially with their alternative target, Crystal Palace’s Sam Johnstone, attracting interest from a number of clubs, including Wolves, Leicester, Southampton and Bournemouth.

Crystal Palace face their own dilemma with Johnstone. Dean Henderson, who took over as first-choice goalkeeper last season, is expected to retain his position under new manager Oliver Glasner. That scenario could push Palace to sell Johnstone, creating competition for his signature.

Arsenal, meanwhile, would need to find a replacement for Ramsdale if he leaves. The Gunners have struggled to complete a deal for Wolves back-up goalkeeper Dan Bentley due to a hefty transfer fee. Although Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta remains interested in Bentley, he is also exploring other options.

Bentley’s conspicuous absence from the recent Wolves kit unveiling has fueled rumors of his potential move to Arsenal. While Wolves unveiled several new kits for next season, only goalkeepers Jose Sa and Tom King were featured, leaving Bentley conspicuously missing from the line-up.

The former Brentford and Bristol City goalkeeper has been the target of several offers from Arsenal, with the Gunners keen to secure his services. Wolves have already rejected Arsenal’s third bid, which would have been around £300,000. The club are holding out for at least £1million for Bentley, who has just one year left on his contract.

Wolves are adamant that Bentley will only be sold if the funds from his transfer can be reinvested in strengthening the squad. As speculation continues, all eyes are on whether Arsenal will meet Wolves’ valuation of the experienced goalkeeper.
