Signings so far… – Sheffield Steelers

The 2024-25 Steelers squad is shaping up nicely.

After the 2024 Grand Slam success, head coach Aaron Fox gradually assembled his team to defend all three trophies and face the best teams in Europe in the CHL.

Let’s take a look at where the Steelers 2024/25 side stands as we head into the end of July.

The goalkeepers…

Perhaps the most important position of all that means that summer news that Matt Greenfield he was returning was perhaps greeted with the greatest excitement.

Greenfield returns to the Steelers for his 3rd season after being named an EIHL All-Star last year for his incredible work in helping the club secure a Grand-Slam.

The Steelers are still confirming their second import goaltender, but they have announced Curtis Warburton and Ben Norton signed two-way deals with the Steelers and Sheffield Steeldogs.

Defense…

Aaron Fox had to make plans for the new season knowing that both Sam Jones and Niklas Nevalainen would not be back.

To date, the Steelers have confirmed the re-signing of four of their core Grand Slam D’s.

Kevin Tansey, Colton Saucerman, Brien Diffley and Dominic Cormier will once again patrol the Steelers’ blue line next season.

As we head into the end of July, Aaron Fox has two more import D-men to announce.

The Steelers enjoyed amazing firepower last season in winning all three trophies on offer.

Aaron Fox has so far confirmed many returnees, but also the departure of a fan favorite.

Brett Neumann announced shortly after the end of the season that he would be moving to a team in Switzerland. Neumann has enjoyed two seasons with the club and has been a big part of our recent success.

The forwards that Aaron Fox has confirmed so far are…

Captain Robert Dowd, Patrick Watling, Marco Vallerand, Daniel Ciampini, Mitchell Balmas, Mark Simpson, Mikko Juusola, Cole Shudra and Brandon Whistle.
