Arsenal are reportedly keeping a close eye on Brazilian winger Raphinha, who could be set to leave Barcelona.

Raphinha, previously linked with a move to Arsenal in 2022, has opted to join Barcelona but is now among the players the Catalan club are looking to transfer to fund new signings.

According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are working to strengthen their attack, especially the left-back position. The club are aiming to add more goals and dynamism to their forward line, with Nico Williams and Dani Olmo as potential targets.

Despite Barca rating Raphinha highly for his competitiveness and performance, they are open to selling him.

Raphinha has also attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League, with Al Hilal reportedly approaching Barcelona to discuss a possible move for the former Leeds star. However, Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar could take the opportunity to bring Raphinha to north London as Barcelona have significantly lowered their valuation of the winger.

Originally priced at £50m, Raphinha is now available for £42m thanks to Barcelona’s desire to offload him.

The 27-year-old Brazilian, who has registered 45 direct involvements in goal in 87 appearances for Barcelona, would be a significant addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad. His arrival would provide competition for Bukayo Saka on the right wing and allow Gabriel Martinelli to rotate with Raphinha on the left flank.

In addition, the signing of Raphinha could facilitate Emile Smith Rowe’s departure from the club, with the 23-year-old midfielder expected to join Fulham in a deal worth more than £35m, almost covering the cost of the transfer fee of Raphinha.

Raphinha’s favorite jersey numbers are no. 10 and no. 18, currently owned by Smith Rowe and Takehiro Tomiyasu respectively. However, he is unlikely to take the number 11 shirt from Martinelli, who has established himself as a key player for Arsenal.
