NHS Trust denies projecting images of child victims from Gaza at Lambeth Hospital

A London NHS Trust has refused permission for images of child victims of the Gaza war to be projected onto the walls of one of its main hospitals.

Pictures posted on social media last night showed images of injured Palestinian children projected onto the main wall of St Thomas’ Hospital in Lambeth.

The images were posted alongside captions that read “don’t look away” and “the children of Gaza need you, give them your voice”.

But a spokesman for Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust, which operates the hospital, denied any involvement with the screening or filming.

“We are aware of a video currently circulating on social media of images projected onto the side of St Thomas’ Hospital. While we are horrified by the loss of all innocent lives during the conflict, this video was not created by or with the permission of the Trust,” they said.

The Standard has contacted the Trust for further comment.

The clip, titled Don’t Look Away, was originally posted on X by unionist Howard Beckett. It is unclear who created the video.

More than 26,400 people have died since the Gaza conflict began, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry.

The fighting is part of Israel’s efforts to end Hamas’ control of the Gaza Strip since the October 7 attack, when Hamas militants invaded southern Israel, killing about 1,200 people and taking about 250 hostages.

Last month, health workers staged a silent march from St Thomas’ Hospital to Downing Street to demand an immediate ceasefire in the conflict.
