Service Manager – Street Scene job with Sheffield City Council

The Street Scene Service Manager is an exciting opportunity for you to lead and develop a new approach to managing our city street scene. Our vision is to ensure that we bring all streetscene services together for the benefit of our customers.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with experience in street scene management, with excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to lead partners, the voluntary sector and other key stakeholders to deliver united services focused on the needs of our local communities .

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate innovation in developing improvements in street scene management and work with our communities to make the most of local strengths to deliver sustainable results and improvements.

You will directly manage a team that already manages venues in the city centre, however in all other areas of the city you will lead the council’s approach to solving street scene issues by working with teams not directly under your leadership.

You will create a ‘Team around the Place’ approach through excellent leadership and negotiation skills, working with services such as. Highways, waste, local councils, parks, housing, South Yorkshire Police and voluntary groups.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks a year and we offer generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussing a range of flexible working opportunities that benefit you and the Council, including reduced hours contracts, part-time work or as a shared workplace.


If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the final grade. If you provide proof of pay that your base pay is higher than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the minimum advantage point within the grade.
