The police are working to break up the street racing event

West Midlands Police took to social media to report how the Road Injury Prevention Team (RHPT) and members of E Unit went to a street racing event in Birmingham on Saturday night.

He said six Section 59 orders were issued, which means driving in a manner that causes/has caused or is likely to cause alarm, annoyance or annoyance to members of the public.

In addition, there were 23 speeding offences, one vehicle impounded for anti-social behavior and several cars noted for number plate offences.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “Interceptors from Unit 247 RHPT & E were at the street racing this evening.

“Six Section 59 warnings were issued, multiple number plate offences, 23 speeding offenses and a vehicle impounded for anti-social behaviour.”

The police activity is part of a full and final ban on “street racing”, also known as “car cruising”, in the Black Country, which was set down by the High Court in June.
