But he faces a strong battle for the new Republic of Ireland cap.

West Brom and Stoke City are also keen on a loan move for Cannon.

Baggies bosses rate the hitman – who hardly figured for the Foxes after they bought him from Preston a year ago.

But Stoke could be in pole position if they offer to cover a bigger chunk of the wages.

Cannon wants to play, so that’s also a factor and the Blades will have to convince him to start.

And Leicester could make a shock move for Crystal Palace’s Ghana star Jordan Ayew.

The 32-year-old striker also has interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

Ayew collected a total of four goals and eight assists in 37 appearances last season.

The forward has played a key role at Palace since his move from Swansea in 2018.

The Ghanaian international initially joined on loan, but his move did not become permanent until a year later.
