South Croydon stabbing leaves young man fighting for life as police chase attacker

A young man was left fighting for his life in hospital after he was stabbed in a churchyard in South Croydon on Saturday (July 27). Met Police officers were called at 7.15pm to reports of a stabbing on Heathfield Road, with a photo shared on social media showing a cordon at the entrance to St Peter’s Church.

MyLondon understands the stabbing took place in the churchyard, with a Met police car also pictured parked outside. London Ambulance Service (LAS) officers and paramedics attended and found a 22-year-old man suffering from stab wounds.

He was rushed to hospital and doctors told the Met Police his injuries were described as life-threatening. No arrests have yet been made, so the man’s attacker is still at large. Police said they were investigating the incident.
