Man dies after BMW crashes into hedge, three arrested

A man has died after a car crashed into a hedge on an A road in Worcestershire. Three men arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drink driving.

It happened on the A46 in Evesham, close to the junction with Badsey Road, on Saturday July 27 at around 5.30pm. A black BMW 330 D Sport left the road and crashed into a hedge. Emergency services attended the incident, but nothing could be done to save a 39-year-old man.



He was pronounced dead at the scene. The arrested men were 29, 34 and 36 years old. All three remained in police custody while inquiries continued, West Mercia Police said.

The force has appealed for witnesses to come forward. A West Mercia Police spokesman said: “Officers investigating a fatal collision on the A46 in Worcestershire are appealing for witnesses. The collision happened at around 5.30pm yesterday in Evesham, near the junction with Badsey Road on the A46.

“The incident involved a black BMW 330 D Sport which left the road before colliding with a hedge. The emergency services intervened, where a 39-year-old man was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.

“Anyone who witnessed the collision or was in the area around the time of the incident and may have dash cam footage is asked to email the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at: [email protected] .uk.
