Alan Nixon reports for The S*n that Nottingham Forest are considering a loan move for Aaron Ramsdale this summer.

Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo wants to sign Ramsdale as his first-choice goalkeeper, but the club cannot meet Arsenal’s asking price of around £50m.

Instead, Forest plan to gamble and wait until later in the summer when they hope Ramsdale could be available for a loan move.

Nixon adds that many Premier League clubs are looking at Ramsdale, but none have made a suitable bid for the goalkeeper so far.

Most recently, it was claimed that Southampton were prepared to step up their interest in Ramsdale after Euro 2024. Again, Saints were hoping for a loan move.

Despite Nixon’s claim that Arsenal want £50m, The Athletic’s James McNicholas previously reported that the Gunners expect to recoup a fee of around £30m.

If Ramsdale leaves, McNicholas added that Espanyol’s Joan Garcia has been lined up as a replacement.

Ramsdale made 11 appearances in 2023/24, losing the starting spot to David Raya.

The England goalkeeper has publicly suggested he does not want another year out of regular action, but Arsenal’s demands could mean a loan is the only way out for him.
