David Prutton has picked Leeds United’s ‘spectacular’ target in his Championship team of the season

From the top four teams, many players could have been chosen. Leicester’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, the effervescent Adam Armstrong who scored the winner in the play-off final for Southampton against Leeds.

Apart from Leicester, Ipswich, Southampton and Leeds, one player who was probably head and shoulders above the rest was Norwich City’s Gabriel Sara. The Brazilian ace produced 25 goals and assists.

Leeds make Gabriel Sara a ‘key target’ this summer

Leeds return to Yorkshire on Monday afternoon after training camp in Germany which included friendly wins against Hannover 96 and Schalke. The focus turns to the last friendly against Spanish side Valencia.

Then the opening weekend of the Championship when Leeds welcome Portsmouth to Elland Road on August 10. Between now and then Leeds could make a few signings and one of those could be Norwich’s Sara.

Norwich star Sara has become a ‘key target’ for Leeds, a move which would see Farke pounce on his old side. He is not the only player linked with Leeds since Farke’s arrival following bids for Kenny McLean.

Prutton named Gabriel Sara in his team of the season

Prutton, a presenter for Sky Sports’ coverage of The Football League, produced his Championship Team of the Season at the end of a super campaign and included three Leeds players in his star-studded squad.

Joe Rodon was one of those, with Prutton saying he solved a problem Leeds had in the Premier League. He also picked Summerville and Georginio Rutter on his side, as well as Sammi Szmodics and Leif Davis.

Prutton also included Norwich star Sara, saying he is capable of making magic out of nothing on Sky Sports: “Gabriel Sara from Norwich, he’s great. He plays with a big smile on his face, he’s capable of the spectacular.”
