The son of a member of the Liverpool squad that won the Champions League in 2005, he has signed a scholarship deal with the club.

The talented youngster will now look to follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming a first-team player at Anfield.

After impressing as a schoolboy, the prospect will now be part of Liverpool’s Under-18 squad ahead of the new campaign.

The player completed his new contract after recently turning 16.

It will be intriguing to see how much progress he can make next season.

As reported by Lewis Bower, Prince Cisse will be a first-year scholar for Liverpool this season.

Prince is the son of former Liverpool star Djibril Cisse, who scored 24 goals in 79 games for the club between 2004 and 2007.

Cisse won the Champions League and FA Cup with Liverpool and later had other spells in English football with Sunderland and QPR. He is currently the forwards coach at another of his former clubs, Auxerre.

In the 2005 Champions League final against AC Milan, Cisse scored in the penalty shootout after coming on as a substitute. Liverpool came back remarkably from 3-0 down at half-time to hold on for a 3-3 draw before winning on penalties in one of the most dramatic finals ever.

Cisse played 41 times for France between 2002 and 2011.

Prince, a forward, has been capped by Wales at Under 16 level.
