Devon beach evacuated under emergency conditions as air ambulance lands – updates

A beach in Devon has been evacuated this evening due to an emergency incident. Cornwall Air Ambulance landed on Bigbury Beach in South Devon.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud announcement on the beach at around 6.20pm today, with the public being asked to leave. The RNLI, HM Coastguard and South Western Ambulance Service as well as the Cornwall Air Ambulance are all in attendance.




A beachgoer said the air ambulance landed just before 7pm. She said: “There are four people in hi-vis who have cordoned off the area.
